Player Safety First

Responsible Gambling — Play Smart, Stay Safe

At a1ee, responsible gambling is not a footnote — it is central to how we operate. This guide is designed to help Pakistani players understand the risks of gambling, recognise warning signs, and use the tools available to keep play enjoyable and within safe limits. Read this before you wager anything.

Understanding Responsible Gambling

Gambling Should Always Be Entertainment

Responsible gambling means treating betting and gaming purely as a leisure activity — the same way a cricket fan in Karachi might buy a match ticket or a Lahore resident might pay for a cinema show. It is money spent on entertainment, with the clear understanding that you may not get it back.

The moment gambling stops feeling like fun — or when you start chasing losses, borrowing money to play, or hiding your gambling from family — it has crossed a line. a1ee wants every Pakistani player on our platform to understand that distinction clearly, before they place their first wager.

Gambling is never a reliable way to make money. Outcomes are determined by chance. The house always holds a mathematical edge — whether you are betting on a PSL match, spinning a slot, or playing live roulette. No strategy, system or hot streak changes that.

Set a fixed budget before you start Only use money you can afford to lose Never chase losses Take regular breaks Keep gambling separate from finances

Tools & Controls

Player Protection Tools Available on a1ee

These tools are built into the platform to help you stay in control. Use them proactively — before you need them, not after.

Deposit Limits

Set a maximum amount you can deposit in a given period — daily, weekly or monthly. For example, you might cap your monthly deposits at PKR 5,000 to keep spending firmly within your entertainment budget. Once a deposit limit is set, it takes effect immediately and cannot be increased for a cooling-off period.

Set from your account dashboard

Loss Limits

A loss limit caps the net amount you can lose within a set period. If you reach PKR 2,000 in losses in a day, for instance, your account stops allowing further wagers until the reset period. This is one of the most effective tools available for preventing gambling-related financial harm.

Applied in real time

Session Time Limits

Time can pass quickly when you are engaged in live casino games or in-play cricket betting. Session time limits trigger an alert or automatic logout when your chosen session duration is reached — keeping you conscious of how long you have been playing.

Configurable in profile settings

Reality Check Reminders

Reality check prompts appear at intervals you define — every 30, 60 or 90 minutes — displaying a summary of your session: how long you have played, your net position and your remaining budget. A brief pause to review these figures helps maintain perspective and informed decision-making.

Customisable notification intervals

Cooling-Off Period

If you feel your gambling is getting out of hand but you are not ready to fully self-exclude, a cooling-off period temporarily suspends your account for a duration you choose — 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. During this period you cannot log in, deposit or wager. The break can give you valuable perspective.

Instant activation via Help Centre

Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion is the strongest player protection tool available. It permanently or semi-permanently closes your account and blocks access to the platform. Options typically range from 6 months to permanent exclusion. Once applied, it cannot be reversed during the elected period — and this is intentional, to ensure it works when you need it most.

Setting Limits

Understanding Your Financial Controls

Illustrative PKR examples to help you understand how each limit type works in practice. Actual limits are set by you in your account settings — these are examples only.

📅
Daily Limit

E.g. PKR 500 per day. Prevents impulsive over-spending in a single sitting. Resets every 24 hours.

📆
Weekly Limit

E.g. PKR 2,000 per week. Useful for players who prefer a weekly budget aligned with their income cycle.

🗓️
Monthly Limit

E.g. PKR 5,000 per month. Ideal for strict monthly budgeting — treats gambling as a fixed leisure expense.

📉
Loss Limit

E.g. stop at PKR 1,500 net loss. Once reached, account locks for further bets until the reset period.

⏱️
Time Limit

E.g. 2-hour max session. Automatic logout or prominent alert when your session time is reached.

🔒
Self-Exclusion

6 months to permanent. Full account block — the most powerful tool when other limits are not enough.

Problem Gambling

Warning Signs to Watch For

Problem gambling does not always look dramatic. It often starts small — a slightly larger bet here, a longer session there. Knowing the signs early is what makes the difference between catching it in time and letting it escalate.

These signs apply regardless of whether you are betting on Pakistan cricket from Lahore, playing live slots from Karachi or following the PSL on your phone in Islamabad. Gambling can become problematic for anyone, regardless of background or income level.

If you recognise three or more of these signs in yourself — or in someone you know — take action now. Contact our support team via the Help Centre, or use the self-exclusion tool directly from your account dashboard.

Chasing Losses

Increasing bet sizes or continuing to play in an attempt to "win back" money you have already lost. This is one of the clearest indicators of a gambling problem.

Gambling With Money You Cannot Afford to Lose

Using funds earmarked for rent, bills, school fees or essential household expenses — including PKR set aside for family obligations — to fund gambling sessions.

Hiding Your Gambling

Concealing gambling activity, transaction history or losses from family members or close friends — a sign that you know the gambling has gone beyond acceptable limits.

Gambling to Escape Stress or Low Mood

Using gambling as a coping mechanism for anxiety, depression, boredom or personal problems. Gambling amplifies these feelings over time rather than relieving them.

Losing Track of Time While Playing

Regularly spending more time gambling than planned — missing meals, sleep, work or family commitments because a session ran much longer than intended.

Borrowing Money to Gamble

Requesting loans from family, friends or financial services specifically to fund gambling — or using credit cards, buy-now-pay-later schemes or informal lenders to cover gambling expenses.

Withdrawal from Social Relationships

Pulling away from friends, family or social activities in order to spend more time gambling, or because gambling losses have created social tension or shame.

Self-Assessment

Quick Gambling Health Check

Ask yourself these questions honestly. If you answer "yes" to two or more, we strongly encourage you to review your limits or contact our support team. This is not a clinical diagnostic — it is a starting point for reflection.

1

Have you ever spent more on gambling than you originally planned for a single session?

2

Have you ever borrowed money or sold possessions to fund gambling?

3

Have you felt restless, irritable or anxious when you tried to cut down or stop gambling?

4

Do you find yourself thinking about gambling frequently — reliving past wins or planning your next session?

5

Have you lied to family members about the amount of time or money you spend on gambling?

6

Have you ever continued gambling after telling yourself you would stop, chasing your losses to try to break even?

7

Has gambling negatively affected your work, studies, family relationships or financial situation?

If you answered yes to 2 or more of these questions: Please use the self-exclusion or cooling-off tool in your account dashboard immediately, and contact our support team via the Help Centre for guidance. Seeking help early makes recovery significantly more achievable.
Self-Exclusion

How to Self-Exclude on a1ee

Self-exclusion is the most decisive step you can take to protect yourself from gambling harm. It closes your account and prevents access for the duration you select. During the exclusion period, you will not be able to log in, deposit, wager or claim promotions.

Once activated, self-exclusion cannot be reversed until the elected period ends — and any request to shorten the period will be subject to a mandatory cooling-off time. This is a feature, not a limitation: it ensures the tool works when willpower alone is not enough.

Irreversible During Elected Period
  1. 1
    Log Into Your Account

Access your a1ee account from a1ee.cam. Make sure you are connected on a secure, private network — not a public Wi-Fi connection.

Go to your account settings and select the "Responsible Gambling" or "Player Protection" section. This is where all limit and exclusion tools are located.

  3. 3

  4. 4
    Confirm Your Request

Confirm the request through the on-screen verification prompt. A confirmation email will be sent to your registered email address.

  5. 5
    Account Is Immediately Suspended

Your account is locked immediately upon confirmation. Any pending promotions or bonuses are forfeited. If you have a pending withdrawal, contact the Help Centre to ensure it is processed.

  6. 6
    Seek Additional Support

Self-exclusion is most effective when combined with professional support. Consider speaking to a trusted family member, a doctor, or a support organisation. See our support resources section below.

Child Safety

Protecting Minors — Parental Controls

a1ee operates an absolute 18+ access policy. However, we acknowledge that many Pakistani households share devices — a single smartphone or tablet may be used by multiple family members including children. If minors have access to your device, additional steps are essential.

We strongly recommend that parents and guardians in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and across Pakistan install parental control software on any device that could be used to access gambling content. Popular tools include device-level parental controls built into Android and iOS, as well as dedicated parental control applications available on major app stores.

Never store your gambling account credentials where a child could find them. Lock your device with a strong PIN or biometric authentication. Be particularly careful with shared family phones where wallet apps like Easypaisa or JazzCash are also installed.

Device-Level Protection Checklist
  • Enable parental controls through device operating system settings (Android Family Link / iOS Screen Time)
  • Use a strong, unique PIN or biometric lock on devices used for gambling
  • Never save gambling account passwords in a shared browser or password manager
  • Consider installing a site-blocking tool on shared home Wi-Fi routers
  • Have open, age-appropriate conversations with children about the risks of gambling — education is the strongest protection

Mental Health Support (Pakistan)

Gambling problems are often linked to anxiety, depression and financial stress. Speaking to a mental health professional in Pakistan — available in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and other cities — can be an important step alongside gambling-specific support.

Gamblers Anonymous (GA)

Gamblers Anonymous is an international peer support fellowship for people with gambling problems. GA meetings follow a 12-step programme and are available in many countries and online globally. Participation is free and anonymous.

GamCare

GamCare is a well-recognised gambling support charity providing free information, advice and counselling. Their resources include online self-help tools, a helpline and a live chat service. Available internationally.

GambleAware

GambleAware funds treatment and support services for people affected by gambling harm. Their website provides practical guides, self-assessment tools and pathways to professional treatment programmes.

Family & Trusted Friends

Sometimes the most effective support starts at home. Talking honestly to a trusted family member — a parent, sibling or spouse — about gambling difficulties is often the first and most meaningful step toward recovery, particularly in the Pakistani cultural context where family support is central.

Important Note: The organisations listed above are cited for general awareness only. a1ee makes no warranty regarding their current availability, contact details or suitability for any individual's circumstances.
